Hello Vetiver friends!
Just wanted to alert everyone that we will be out of the office from October 29th to November 2nd on holiday! Orders can be placed during this time but will not be fulfilled until we return, so please plan accordingly. We will resume our normal business hours on November 3rd, 2014. To celebrate this time off for us we are giving our customers some extra savings! This will be the last sale before the holidays! Save 10% on all orders by using coupon code [ fallintosavings14 ]
Also we would like to welcome Victoria Cochran to the Vetiver Team! She is here also to help with holiday orders! Have a safe and fun holiday everyone!
Check out our lovely new front door! Oh yes, we have officially settled into the new Vetiver location on the third floor of the Elsby building in Downtown New Albany.
This is a wonderful cross between warehouse and retail space. We are not a storefront, but it is SO MUCH nicer than a warehouse.
If you're in the area, feel free to stop by! Jessica is running the shop, and she is typically there between 10am and 6pm M-F. However, as she is the only full-time employee at the moment, appointments are preferred so you don't arrive while she's on a trip to the post office or off at lunch.
Also, Jessica has been promoted from Fullfillment Specialist to Assistant Manager! When you call our new number (812-590-1187), it is she that will answer.
Angie, the owner, is stepping back into a more visionary and administrative role. Jessica is now in charge of running Vetiver's day-to-day operations. Don't worry, though - you are in capable hands!
The Elsby Building is located at 117 East Spring Street. We are in Suite 322.
That's right.....Vetiver Aromatics is finally taking its first grown-up step and moving out of its parents' house, and into its first suite. There will be some moving pains, so please be patient with us over the next two weeks or so as we settle in. Here is out general upcoming schedule:
Noon Thursday 26th: Orders placed after this won't get filled before we move.
Friday June 27th - Tuesday June 1st: Store closed while we move - we may be available to answer phone calls and will still be checking emails, but there may be a longer delay than usual
Wednesday July 2nd - Thursday July 3rd: Work furiously to catch up on the orders placed while we were moving
Friday July 4th: Store closed for holiday
Our website will still be available for placing orders - we just won't be filling orders. But as a THANK YOU for your patience, we will be extending our FREE SHIPPING promotion through Tuesday, June 1st.
With the holidays fast approaching, timeliness of orders is becoming ever so important. So, I've put together this guide to when stuff is fulfilled, when it ships, and when you can expect to get it. As a general rule, orders are processed the day after they are placed, and then shipped the following day. Why the following day? Because USPS does their pickup here at around 10 am.
I have occasional part-time help, but generally most orders are filled by me. Here's how it works: By about 10 am every morning, I print out the orders that are waiting for me, and start packing and filling. By the end of the day, I've boxed them all up, printed the labels, and set them out for the post office to pick up the following morning. So, if you place an order after 9am on Monday, It'll be in the queue to be printed and filled on Tuesday, then go out in Wednesday's mail....Give or take a day. If I finish filling orders and it's only 1pm, I'll check for more orders and fill those the same day. Or if it gets to be 5pm and I'm not finished with the day's orders, some will get filled the following day. Hence the "ORDERS ARE USUALLY FILLED WITHIN 1-3 BUSINESS DAYS."
That process can be sped up if you need a rush delivery. I can personally take your package to the post office on the same day I fill it, thus shaving a day off your wait. And if your order is placed early in the day, I can fill it AND take it to the post office on the same day you place the order, thus shaving two days off your wait. Possibly three days, if it's a busy time of year. Like Christmas. However, taking time out of my day to make a trip to the post office takes time....so there is a $10 rush order fee to cover that extra effort on my part. Note that this does not change the amount of time the post office takes to deliver your package after it leaves my hands. For that you have to upgrade to Express Mail.
One the package is on its way, the time to delivery depends on the type of postage you bought. First Class? 3 days. Priority? 2 days. Express? 1 day.
Now, these are all business days. I work Monday - Friday. The US Post office delivers Monday - Saturday. Here's a handy chart. The first column is the day you placed your order. The second column is the day it will probably arrive if you chose Priority shipping. The third is for Express shipping.
Need it even faster? That's where the rush shipping add-on comes in. International? Add a week to the estimate.

Holy cow this has been a great first full year in business! Ah, I remember the days back when Vetiver was a wee dream, and a nascent startup, finding its way into the world waaaaay back in June of 2011. Oh, and look! Our first blog post, Soulful Perfumery.
So where are we now? Still a small, independent business. Contemplating adding more soul to the business by switching over to an ALL NATURAL fragrance oil supplier for our fragrance oils. More on that later.
Where else? Well, the website is fancier. Have you checked it out lately? Rockin' a flash slider, and a new price sheet page for the fragrance oils.
We got all sorts of fancy security for our website, and then started offering credit card processing as a payment option. Soon, multiple shipping options too!
We started adding essential oils....and puttered out. Those are still coming. Promise!
Other plans for this year: testing our fragrances in soap, candles, etc, and reporting on the results. Adding more perfume making supplies - especially expanding the selection of perfume bottles, storage bottles, decanting supplies, etc. More perfume making kits. More formula sharing.
And more blogging, and more newsletters!
Let the games begin!
Vetiver Aromatics is growing! And as we begin carrying greater quantities of our top fragrance oils, we can pass those bulk savings down to you. So check out our new price sheet - each oil is now priced according to its actual cost. Prices range from $3.00-$4.50 for the 2-dram amber glass dropper vials. Be on the lookout for changes in our perfume making kits! We will be repricing those, and adding more options - including a design-your-own kit, where you get to pick the oils!
