Scentational Story: Fig
The leaf of the fig is often used as a protector of modesty, dating back to the story of Adam and Eve, where they covered their nakedness with fig leaves in shame after eating the forbidden fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.
Even the plant itself exhibits a seeming display of modesty, wherein the flower blooms safely within the confines of the fruit. The word "sycophant" comes from the Greek word sykophantes, meaning"one who shows the fig,” which is achieved via a vulgar hand gesture.
