Home Remedy for Itching

My daughter is battling pityriasis rosea, a skin rash of unknown causes and no known remedy, except time. It will go away in about six weeks; in the meantime, all we can do is treat symptoms. Yay.

So, I have been mixing up some essential oils in search of a home remedy for the itching. First we tried lavender oil, which worked, but we don't like the smell. So, we played around with some other oils that are good for skin conditions and such, but also smell nice. What we finally came up with is a combination of peppermint, lavender, calendula, and eucalyptus. The final product does not smell mediciney at all, and it still controls her itching!

I also tried it on my mosquito bites, and it works like a charm. Amazing! And look a the pretty bottle we have it in. Oooohhh preeeety.

It's our anti-itch potion, and it's so much more fun applying this than some store-bought creme from a tube!

Ingredients:

  • 4 parts peppermint oil
  • 3 parts calendula oil
  • 2 parts lavender oil
  • 1 part eucalyptus oil
  • 20 parts carrier oil

Try it yourself and see if it works for you!
