Scentational Story: Apple
The symbol of wisdom, of temptation, and of sin, the apple is often identified as the mythical “forbidden fruit.” Many believe it was a fateful bite of apple that got Adam and Eve evicted from the Garden of Eden. Later, another fateful apple indirectly incited the Trojan War, when Paris awarded Aphrodite a golden apple in exchange for the most beautiful woman in the world—Helen of Troy, wife of Menelaus. This beguiling fruit has a long and entangled history, as evidenced in the similarity between the two words in Latin: mālum "an apple", and mălum "an evil.”
